EN Following Edward Steichen's Family of Man and as a result of a concert by Duke Ellington at the Wiltzer Festival in 1970, Luxembourg's "veteran" in jazz photography, Raymond Clement, initiated the photo exhibition Family of Jazz.
Tirelessly and with great enthusiasm, Clement photographed live concerts of mostly international jazz greats for decades. Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Chet Baker and many others will be preserved for future generations in a valuable, impressive visual legacy of jazz history.
In Impressions 'n expressions, the eight-piece jazz ensemble FUJAZZI, led by singer Edith van den Heuvel, will frame a selection of photographs specially curated by Raymond Clement, complete with matching text collages. Such a collaboration and staging of jazz photography and jazz music - presented in the style of silent film music - is certainly a novelty for Luxembourg!
