The Movement Art International Dance Festival 17-24 October 2026.
The Movement Art International Dance Festival brings together international
contemporary dance artists whose works explore memory, identity, resistance, and
human connection. Rooted in the cross-border dialogue between Luxembourg and Trier,
the festival creates space for exchange in a world increasingly shaped by division where
bodies speak beyond language, borders, and fear. More than a performance festival,
Movement Art is a gathering of perspectives, questions, and shared humanity.
INLET
Syria / Germany / Luxembourg
Inspired by the legend of Romulus and Remus and the symbolic meaning of Rome’s city walls, Inlet explores the significance of borders throughout history. Raising thought-provoking questions about walls and their contemporary relevance, Inlet examines their role as boundaries, fortifications, and barriers that influence human interactions and perceptions. Through raw movement and compelling visuals, the dancers capture the essence of separation, confinement, and the yearning for freedom. Without distraction, their bodies convey universal truths that resonate deeply with our present society. Inlet is more than a performance: it is an immersive experience, an invitation to reflect, feel, and break free. Inlet was nominated for The List Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025 in the category of Physical Theatre, Dance, and Circus.

Unfolded Moments.
Slovenia
is a hybrid dance and visual performance that takes the performer on a journey through the human mindscape, exploring inner shadows, fears, and identity. Created by Kristýna Peldová and Enya Belak, the performance traces moments of personal crisis and portrays how one navigates selfhood through inner struggles. Through movement and video projections, the creators play with contrasts between visible and invisible, transparency and subtlety. A crisis emerges as an urge to escape, disrupted by overwhelming visual and external stimuli. This tension overpowers the desire for calm, compelling the body to respond and adapt to an intense environment of shifting forces. Unfolded Moments captures the sensation of a scattered mind in its desperate search for focus and peace. The dance here unfolds between the manifested and unmanifested … in the place of duality - dark and light.
