HOЯS CIЯCUITS | MILLE & UNE

MILLE

Incandescent and sharp, Harris Gkekas' silhouette traces a path, whose outbursts and snags draw numerous mutations, where the image of a "skin" destined to burst like that of a reptile during its moult vibrates.

Around the questions of resistance and transformation, the body unties itself in surprising convolutions, punctuated by sudden accelerations and controlled imbalances. The virtuosity of the movement, the shimmering of the space and the free flow of the displacements address the portrait of a man declined in a thousand plateaus, a reference borrowed from Deleuze and Guattari to describe the production of differences and modulations. In this solo, metamorphosis operates as a motif, but also, like our world, as an imperative.

UNE

UNE is a body alone, surrounded and put to the test. Methodically, UNE analyses the constraints imposed on it by its environment and bypasses them by means of extreme twists. Each stage of this testing journey until she finally stands upright reveals a strength that never fades away. The resilience and resistance that UNE demonstrates, alongside feelings of weariness and internal revolt, are certainly legitimate.

The first part of the Framed.Medeas series, UNE reminds us of the fragility of our freedoms and our individual or collective struggles. Beyond an allegory on the female condition and its struggles, UNE is a call to vigilance, because the balance of all things will never be taken for granted but will always be the result of a constant and perilous exercise.
