In Glorious Bodies., choreographer Piet Van Dycke brings together six performers aged between 58 and 70, all shaped by classical circus. Their bodies hold a piece of circus history – the memory of a lifetime of balance, high-flying feats, and falls. With humour, restraint, and quiet strength, the piece reveals what time may transform but never erase: precision, the pleasure of play, and the art of relying on one another. Virtuosity here lies not only in the difficulty of the trick, but in lifting and being lifted, leaning into trust, and rising again. And we leave the theatre with the gentle certainty that the years may mark the body, but never diminish its capacity to amaze.
