Cuerpo Nombrado. is the body in all its conditions, it is an open flamenco whose only limit is the skin of its interpreters; above all, it is a study in movement on the subtleties and potential of the body as a means of transmission.

In this show, the dancer Paula Comitre invites you on a voyage through various flamenco palos (forms), supported by two of the fundamental pillars of this art form: the song and the guitar. These three disciplines then enter into a symbiosis to create an intimate, intelligible and sonorous atmosphere that projects the viewer into a play of three bodies beyond the flesh.

“The dance listens attentively and engages in a natural dialogue with the song and the guitar, and every detail has a meaning, in a discourse which is by turns inviting, amusing, sensual, elegant or furious, as Paula Comitre exhibits her vivacity, energy, creativity and serenity,” explains arts reporter Sara Arguijo.

Paula Comitre (born in Seville, 1994) studied at the Antonio Ruiz Soler Conservatory of Professional Dance in Seville and at the Andalusian Dance Centre (CAD). In 2013, she was admitted to the “Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía” and began to dance with companies and in tablaos in 2016. She presented her first show in February 2020 at the Festival de Jerez, winning the Best Newcomer prize at that festival. In September of that same year, she received the Giraldillo Revelación at the Seville Biennale. In 2022, now already noted as a rising star in flamenco dance, she presented her first production at the Théâtre national de Chaillot in Paris and performed the première of Cuerpo Nombrado at the Festival flamenco de Madrid and at the Festival Flamenco in London.
